Hi, I'm Dhiya!
I'm a high school senior at Parkway West High School, MO. I love both art and science, and I'm the founder of the Mindful Art Club and vice president of the Medical Club. I combine my passion for art with my interest in medicine, even working as an artist for a physiotherapy company. My main goal is to use art to improve mental health for teens and seniors, and I've already volunteered over 300 hours helping in hospitals and senior homes. My achievements include winning the School Honors Award for academics and art, winning the Science Olympiad (regional level), receiving the Congressional Art Award (with my art displayed in the US Capitol), earning the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, and being a National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Silver Medal winner. I've also been named an AP Scholar, received Presidential Service Awards (Gold and Bronze), earned the MAPO Rising Star award, and had a research article published in JHS. Additionally, I completed a year-long paid research program at Tyson Research Center (SIFT program) and am a classical dancer and vocalist.
